Community - Austin College (11)

We are Austin College. Welcome to ’RooNation.

Austin College is proud to be a cornerstone of the Sherman, Denison, and larger Grayson County community. With a 175-year history in Texas (the oldest college still operating under original name and charter!), and almost 150 years in Sherman, Austin College is intrinsically linked to our community. Our faculty and staff, students, and alumni live, work, serve, and play across the Texoma region.

Campus Visitor Information

Due to TxDOT construction on U.S. Hwy 75 and U.S. Hwy 82 in Sherman, routes to campus change frequently. Please allow extra travel time and route your GPS directly to the physical address of the building you are visiting. Common destinations include the Wortham Welcome Center at 718 N. Grand Ave. and Wright Campus Center at 1201 E. Brockett Street. Exits change frequently as highway construction progresses, so be sure to look for the exit signs for Houston/Lamar (Downtown) or for Hwy 91 (Texoma Parkway) – which may come sooner than you are expecting!

*Inclement Weather Directions: In the event of ice or snow, the Grand Avenue overpass is sometimes closed. As an alternate route, navigate to the college via the Brockett street entrance.
